Khoi Le X Of A Kind

Some of you may be aware of my Khoi Le obsession, so when he asked me to write about his collaboration with Of A Kind I quickly obliged (I was already planning on it anyway!). Khoi was one of the first young designers I interviewed back at the beginning of New York Called and his progress has been very exciting. From write-ups in New York Mag to his collaboration with Of a Kind, he's moved from his bedroom "studio" to a fully functioning work studio and showroom in Downtown Los Gatos (re-settling in New York is still in his future he tells me!).The Alpine BackpackSo...what about this collaboration? If you read my story on the founders of Of a Kind, Claire Mazur and Erica Cerulo, you already know about their mission. The girls identify up and coming designers, tell their story, and partner with them to develop special, limited edition product exclusive to Of a Kind. Their goal is to provide a platform of support for the emerging designer community while connecting them with consumers who are interested in buying something special. Knowing their mission and understanding the value of Khoi Le's product meant the two were a perfect match... hence the limited edition backpacks Khoi designed. The Grove backpackThe Alpine And the amazing bag...? Well, to start, there are only 32 of a kind. The Grove backpack is camel leather with natural canvas and the Alpine Backpack is navy canvas with cocoa leather. All 32 pieces went through Khoi's hardworking hands and offer a similar size and aesthetic to his existing mainline bags. They are the perfect getaway bag for commuting around the city and maintain Khoi's clean design and utilitarian characteristics. The best part? You really just feel cool when you wear it.The GroveI have my eye on the Grove backpack but both are great options for Spring/Summer. Coachella? Summer music festivals? This lightweight carry-all is where it's at. Learn more about Khoi and Of a Kind here, and don't miss out on the limited edition pieces(32 X $220 each). This kid will be bigger than big one day. Bravo Khoi, you've done it again!
